This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the State Offices of Rural Health Coordination and Development Program (SORHCDP). The purpose of this program is to develop and maintain activities that will build the capacity of the 50 State Offices of Rural Health (SORH) and rural stakeholders nationwide through strengthening leadership, increasing opportunities for collaboration, offering education on policy and emerging health issues, and supporting the core functions of the SORH. The goals of the SORHCDP are to support the 50 SORH and rural stakeholders nationwide to better coordinate and improve rural health services by: 1. Providing leadership development at national, regional, state, and local levels to increase the impact of SORH; 2. Facilitating partnerships and collaboration at the national, regional, state and local levels to improve the exchange of information and best practices that support rural health; 3. Assisting in the coordination of rural health care through education on policy and emerging health issues; and 4. Providing capacity development for SORH core functions to improve SORH efficiency. The cooperative agreement will involve an ongoing partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the final development and implementation of the submitted work plan.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants include domestic public, private and nonprofit organizations including domestic faith-based and community organizations, state governments and their agencies such as universities, colleges, research institutions, hospitals, local governments or their bona fide agents. Federally recognized tribal governments, tribes, and tribal organizations are also eligible.
