A grant is federal money for ideas and projects that benefit the public. 

Who can get a grant?

We award grants to organizations. These could be local or state governments. Our grants help them solve critical needs in their community.

Emergency Medical Services for Children Innovation and Improvement Center

Who can apply: Eligible applicants include state governments and accredited schools of medicine in states and jurisdictions. The term “school of medicine” for the purpose of this funding opportunity (and under 42 U.S.C. 300w-9(c)) has the same meaning as set forth in § 799B(1)(A) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 295p(1)(A)).11 The term “state” for the purpose of this funding opportunity includes, in addition to the several states, only the District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands

Primary Care Training and Enhancement:Residency Training in Primary Care (PCTE-RTPC) Program

Who can apply: Eligible entities include accredited public or nonprofit private hospitals, schools of allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine, or a public or private non-profit entity which the Secretary has determined is capable of carrying out a residency training program in family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics or combined internal medicine and pediatrics (“med-peds”), which for the purposes of this program are those accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Increasing Organ Donation Awareness Program

Who can apply: Eligible applicants include domestic public or non-profit private entities. Faith-based and community-based organizations are eligible to apply for these funds. Tribes and tribal organizations are eligible to apply. If your organization is an Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) member and/or if you are working with a consortium that includes OPTN members, you and all other OPTN members involved in the project are expected to be in compliance with the HHS final rule governing the operation of the OPTN (42 CFR part 121). You can find more information about the OPTN and the final rule at https://optn.transplant.hrsa.gov/governance/about-the-optn/final-rule/. Foreign entities are not eligible for these awards.

Regional Genetics Networks

Advances in Integrating Genetics into Clinical Care

Who can apply: Any domestic public or private entity, including an Indian tribe or tribal organization (as those terms are defined at 25 U.S.C. 450b) is eligible to apply. See 42 CFR § 51a.3(a). Domestic faith-based and community-based organizations are eligible to apply for these funds. An applicant may NOT apply for concurrent funding as the lead award recipient for this program and either the National Genetics Education and Family Support Program (HRSA-20-049) or the National Genetics Education and Family Support Program and a Regional Genetics Network (HRSA-20-046). If an applicant does apply for any two of these funding opportunities for fiscal year 2020, it will be considered non-responsive and both applications will be disqualified. Foreign entities are not eligible for HRSA awards, unless the authorizing legislation specifically authorizes awards to foreign entities or the award is for research. This exception does not extend to research training awards or construction of research facilities
