Global Health Forum

Our Global Health Forum showcases global health initiatives through a virtual webinar series. These webinars range in topics, covering emerging health issues and promising practices. The Global Health Forum fosters a bi-directional community among federal staff and experts worldwide. The aim is to improve the exchange of information to address a range of global health challenges. Each webinar will focus on a specific topic of relevance to HRSA and the key populations it serves.

Upcoming Webinars

HRSA’s Office of Global Health is excited to announce an upcoming webinar on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm ET. The Advancing Global Health Reciprocal Innovation (GHRI) and Bidirectional Learning: A Collaborative Partnership between HHS, HRSA, and NIH webinar will discuss the larger HHS Global Domestic HIV Bidirectional Initiative, innovations, and efforts to intentionally advance GHRI and bidirectional exchange by HRSA and NIH. Bidirectional Perspectives on Innovations to Align and Advance Health Equity in HIV Priority Populations | Passcode: dJ9Q*7X@

HRSA’s Office of Global Health helped organize the Bi-directional HIV Health Equity webinar. It discussed how social determinants influence health among people at risk for or living with HIV. This webinar provided examples of how programs address inequities impacting prevention and treatment. Speakers highlighted global and domestic HIV programs focusing on men who have sex with men and Black women. The intent was to engage in shared learning to inform U.S. and global efforts to achieve the goal of ending the HIV epidemic.

Border Health and the COVID-19 Pandemic: Lessons Learned to Improve Health Outcomes and Achieve Health Equity

The Border Health and COVID-19 webinar featured our grant recipients, stakeholders, and partners. It covered lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic in the southwest border region of the United States. The webinar emphasized the importance of a skilled and diverse workforce. This included the support of community and behavioral health workers to help achieve health equity.

Access to Respectful and High-Quality Maternal Care | July 2022 Webinar Transcript (PDF - 235 KB)

We partnered with the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the Office of Women’s Health, the World Health Organization, and the U.S. Agency for International Development to launch our Global Health Forum. The webinar explored respectful maternity care principles and inequities,. It emphasized maternal health care strategy information exchange to improve maternal health programming. Program implementers and recipients shared their stories and field experiences.

In observance of Cervical Health Awareness Month, we shared recent innovations in cervical healthcare Speakers highlighted programs like the Federal Cervical Cancer Collaborative. The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief also shared lessons learned through our global implementing partners.
