HRSA November in Brief

In November, HRSA celebrated National Rural Health Day, attended the 2023 Milken Institute Future of Health Summit, joined the HHS Secretary and North Carolina health leaders for a roundtable discussion on child and adolescent behavioral health, announced the Top Health Centers for Clinical Quality Excellence, connected with state and maternal health champions to promote maternal and infant health, and promoted the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline.

Recent HRSA Highlights

In addition, HRSA’s Regional Offices visited rural partners around the country to celebrate National Rural Health Day. The staff visits highlighted HRSA’s commitment to enhancing rural health and the “power of rural.”

  • HRSA Region 1 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont) team members attended the New England Rural Health Association Conference in Killington, Vermont. This year’s theme was “New Horizons in Rural Health Equity.” This annual conference provides HRSA an opportunity to share information about programs and current resources with rural health care professionals, hospital administrators, educators, students, and community leaders. The conference also allows HRSA’s federal partners and rural health experts to explore ways to better leverage resources, advance health equity, and improve health outcomes.
  • HRSA Region 3 (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia) Public Health Advisor Rhonda Jackson attended the 31st Annual West Virginia Rural Health Conference hosted by the West Virginia Rural Health Association in Wheeling, West Virginia. She presented on HRSA priorities and resources to over 250 attendees.
