Tribal Consultations are a key part of our government-to-government relationship with Indian Tribes. These dialogues let us learn about the priorities and needs of Tribal communities and how we can help them. Tribal Consultations can be annual (covering many topics) or subject-specific (covering a specific topic).

Topic: Uniform Data System (UDS) Modernization Initiative (UDS+)
Health Center Program awardees and look-alikes must report on a core data set and measures each calendar year in the UDS, a standardized reporting system. We use UDS data to assess the Health Center Program's impact and performance and promote quality improvement.
The UDS Modernization Initiative will modernize the UDS data set and the technology that supports the submission, collection, and analysis of UDS data.
This initiative will help health centers to:
- Eliminate the need to enter data into the electronic handbooks
- Enter more detailed data about their patient population

HPSAs are geographic areas that have a shortage of primary, dental or mental health care providers.

Topic: Concerns related to using Provider Relief Fund (PRF) payments.
The Provider Relief Fund (PRF) made payments to eligible providers who diagnosed, tested, or cared for people with possible or actual cases of COVID-19. These providers had health care-related expenses and lost revenues due to COVID-19. Providers received automatic payments or applied for payments.
