A grant is federal money for ideas and projects that benefit the public. 

Who can get a grant?

We award grants to organizations. These could be local or state governments. Our grants help them solve critical needs in their community.

What needs are critical?

  • More options for telehealth 
  • HIV medical care, medications, and support services

Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program

Who can apply: Eligible applicants include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, State or local governments, and other private or public non-profit entities determined appropriate by the Secretary. Eligible faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, and Tribes and Tribal Organizations can apply for these funds if they are otherwise eligible. For-profit entities are not eligible under this Notice of Funding Opportunity. Individuals are not eligible to apply.

Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program for Professionals

Who can apply: For the purposes of this program, eligible applicants include: • Accredited institutions of higher education or accredited professional training programs that are establishing or expanding internships or other field placement programs in mental health in psychiatry, psychology, school psychology, behavioral pediatrics, psychiatric nursing (which may include master’s and doctoral level programs), social work, school social work, SUD prevention and treatment, marriage and family therapy, occupational therapy, school counseling, or professional counseling, including such programs with a focus on child and adolescent mental health, trauma, and transitional-age youth; • Accredited doctoral, internship, and post-doctoral residency programs of health service psychology (including clinical psychology, counseling, and school psychology); and • Accredited master’s and doctoral degree programs of social work for the development and implementation of interdisciplinary training of social work graduate students for providing behavioral health services, including trauma-informed care and substance use disorder prevention and treatment
