Research reports and recommendations

Oral health care is a part of all of our programs. Our work is based on the latest knowledge in the field.

  • Oral Health in America: Advances and Challenges
    • In 2021, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research looked at the factors that cause differences in oral health, and in oral health care, in different groups. This report suggests ways to improve oral health for all Americans.
  • Healthy People 2030
    • We’ve adopted the goals from Healthy People 2030 to make oral health care within reach for all.
  • Integration of Oral Health and Primary Care Practice (PDF - 783 KB)
    • In 2012, we developed the Integrating Oral Health and Primary Care Practice initiative to expand the oral health clinical competency of primary care clinicians. This report described the approach, processes, and outcomes of this initiative, and provided recommendations to improve the oral health care workforce.
