All vacant Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (ACICBL) membership positions have been filled. Please reach out to us again in March of 2026 where we will be seeking nominations for individuals who can represent the fields of mental & behavioral health professionals, geriatrics, and Area Health Education Centers.
Nominations for membership
The Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (ACICBL) gives advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
We review policies and programs authorized under Part D of Title VII of the Public Health Services (PHS) Act, which includes:
- Chiropractic medicine
- Geriatric medicine
- Mental and behavioral health
- Pain care
- Patient safety
- Podiatry
- Rural health
ACICBL submits an annual report to the HHS Secretary and Congress. The report includes our findings and recommendations for activities under Part D of Title VII of the PHS Act. We recommend funding levels for programs under Part D. We also create performance measures and guidelines for long-term program evaluation.
Authority
The Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (Advisory Committee) is authorized by Section 757 (42 U.S.C. 294f) of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, as amended by the Affordable Care Act, P.L. 111-148.
The Advisory Committee follows the standards set by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972 (5 U.S.C. Appendix 2), as amended, which sets forth standards for the formation and use of advisory committees.
